Moving forward

Believe it or not, we are counting and so is everyone. Why? It's the fourth week of the boot camp, we've done a lot, still got a lot to do and we've got two weeks till the end of the boot camp.

This week's task was to carry out SEO and content audit of our blog using Seoptimers and also improve the SEO score of the blog to 90. We audited our blog with Seoptimers which gave us a couple of things to work on. Following the audit, our blog scored a B+ and we were also given the some recommendations to help improve the blog and the get the grade to scale the the task. The following were recommendations given;

  • Improvement of on-page SEO
    • Adding Alt text to our pictures
    • Removing duplicate H1 heading
    • Including links in our articles, - Adding keywords in our Tittle, Heading, and Body.
    • We also went forward to add plugins, linked our social media platforms to our blog.
    • We liaised with the Web designers in our Start-up boot camp to do technical SEO recommendations such as adding inline styles and tap targets.

I remember the team having doubts and challenges on what to do when we saw some of the recommendations. Like we had no idea what inline style and tap target meant, a couple of other phrases too. But hey, we were countless. We went there and made our research, we talked to people in the industry and also made use of Google.

Without doubts, it was a wonderful experience working at the backend development of the blog while constantly posting relatable lifestyle content. Simply because we know we have to keep our audience engaged. I bet you're thinking we are the best right? Well we think you guys are too because our audience are "Kings”.
